Formula 1 Show Car Activations
We design, build and tour the showcases that put F1 cars in front of millions — for the teams and sponsors who want their car seen, photographed and remembered.
F1 Show Car Displays, Built and Toured In-House
The Clear Idea is a full end-to-end experiential marketing partner and a UK specialist in F1 show car activations. We put a real Formula 1 car in front of the public, displayed in a fully branded showcase built to suit the car, the location and the audience — from intimate street-level units to large-scale builds with full 360-degree visibility, climate control and integrated lighting.
From mobile showrooms to exhibition vehicles, we manage the whole thing from depot to street: secure loading, route planning, permits, crew and daily set-up across single events or national tours. It’s a service we’ve delivered for Aston Martin Aramco, Williams Racing, Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the Audi Revolut F1 Team and Formula E.

Why a Showcase Wins F1 Activations
A showcase turns a Formula 1 car into a public event. Displayed behind glass, the car becomes something people stop for, walk around and photograph — protected from weather and crowds while staying fully visible from every angle, day or night.
The activation doesn’t have to stand still. A branded showcase moving through a city is a stunt in its own right — as with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas car touring central London, the convoy turns heads on the move and draws attention long before it parks. Across our range, the format flexes to the brief, the car and the location.

Aston Martin Aramco F1 — UK Tour
Aston Martin Aramco took their latest F1 car on a nationwide UK tour using our Transparent Showcase Trailer. The fully visible, ground-level display drew huge crowds and generated significant media coverage at every stop, turning each city activation into an earned-media moment.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas in London
We displayed the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 car through central London’s Mayfair in a Transparent Showcase Trailer, towed by a Mercedes-AMG G63. The on-brand convoy placed the car along New Bond Street, putting the team in front of a high-value audience.

CASE STUDY
Williams Racing in London
We brought Williams’ F1 car into central London for a single high-impact day, displayed in our Transparent Showcase Truck on a planned route past the city’s landmarks. Thousands stopped to photograph it through the glass.

Audi Revolut F1 Team Tour
As naming partner of the Audi F1 team, Revolut wanted to drive sign-ups ahead of Audi’s British Grand Prix debut. We displayed the Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 in a Transparent Showcase Box across a 14-city UK tour, opening at Canary Wharf, with a QR offer that converted footfall into measurable sign-ups.

Formula E Bespoke Build
When Formula E’s EV sponsor Charge Automotive needed a vehicle for the Grand Prix circuit, they came to us for something built from the ground up. We engineered a bespoke transparent transporter capable of carrying and displaying a Formula E race car, with a hydraulic lift-off body that allows the car to be loaded and revealed with ease.
The result was a vehicle that worked as both transport and showpiece — moving the race car between locations while showcasing Charge’s electric powertrain technology to the public. Sophisticated, futuristic and simple to operate, it was designed and manufactured entirely in-house, demonstrating our ability to deliver fully custom builds for the most demanding motorsport briefs.
A Fully Managed F1 Activation Service
Bring us the brief and we deliver the whole activation. From concept and design through fabrication, branding, transport, permits and trained crew, every element runs through one team — so you brief one partner, not five suppliers, and approve the creative while we handle the rest.
The complexity sits with us. Moving a Formula 1 car through a city means secured loading, planned routes, road permissions and on-site coordination at every location, executed to the same standard whether it’s a single-day activation or a multi-week national tour. That operational control is what keeps a high-value car protected, a public crowd safe, and a brand looking flawless from the first city to the last.
What an F1 Show Car Activation Delivers
A real Formula 1 car in a city centre generates dense footfall, long dwell times and a steady stream of fan-shot social content that extends reach well beyond the people present. It reaches the audience that can’t get to the track, where ticket and travel costs keep most fans away.
It’s an activation that turns heads on sight. The car becomes the moment people stop for, photograph and share, generating organic social coverage, earned media and brand awareness across every city it visits — putting a brand in front of national audiences far larger than the crowd on the day.

F1 Activation FAQs
How far in advance do we need to book an F1 activation?
Lead time depends on branding complexity, tour length and the permits required for each location. We are accustomed to working within tight pre-race windows; on receipt of your dates, we will confirm what is achievable and outline the critical path to delivery.
How do you move a Formula 1 car through a city legally and safely?
The car is transported sealed inside a climate-controlled showcase on a road-legal trailer, along a pre-planned and fully permitted route under the supervision of a trained crew. We manage routing, road permissions and on-site logistics in their entirety, ensuring the car remains protected and the activation remains compliant throughout.
Can the showcase be fully branded to our team and sponsors?
Yes. As we manufacture every unit in-house, the entire showcase can be wrapped to your campaign — team livery, sponsor lock-ups, key dates and messaging — with no constraints on the design.
Where can you run the activation?
Anywhere the brief requires. We deliver in city-centre plazas, retail districts, landmarks, store openings, fan zones and race-adjacent locations, both across the UK and internationally. Our operation is global, and we are equipped to deploy activations wherever your audience is.
Can you deliver a multi-city or national tour?
Yes. Touring activations are a core part of our work, and we have extensive experience running both single-day city activations and large-scale national and international roadshows. Our team manages the full operation across every stop — routing, scheduling, set-up, breakdown and on-site staffing — so the activation runs to the same standard in each location, however many are involved.
What does the activation deliver?
A high-impact presence that generates dense footfall, sustained dwell time and a significant volume of audience-generated social content, alongside the earned PR value of a Formula 1 car placed in a public setting. It extends reach to audiences who would not otherwise access the sport, and can be configured with data-capture mechanics to support lead generation where required.
What is included, and what do you require from us?
We deliver the build, branding, transport, permits, crew and daily management in full. We require the car and your campaign creative, and your sign-off on the final design; all operational delivery rests with us.
Do you only work with Formula 1?
No. We deliver across motorsport and automotive more broadly — including Formula E, EV launches and wider brand activations — using our full range of transparent showcases, show vehicles and Pulse expandables.
